Job Description:
The Senior Program Officer reviews and monitors proposals and grants; engages in issues exploration; participates in community events; and fosters community and grantee relations. The position also contributes to the Foundation’s ongoing interest in maintaining an efficient, smooth-running grants process.

Skill Required:
  • A Ph.D. in environmental economics, climate economics, energy economics, and development economics with a climate/environment focus and a record of publication in an area of applied research on climate change, economy, and the environment.
  • Advanced English (reading, writing, and speaking skills).
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience working with environmental economics.
  • A good understanding of environmental and climate change policies, as well as the broader sustainability issues.
  • A demonstrated ability to contribute to circular economy research agenda, and economic analysis of climate change and environment-related problems.

  • A skilled communicator with great interpersonal skills.
  • Competent in planning, organizing, coordinating, negotiating, implementing, and monitoring.
  • Able to work under pressure using your initiative and sound judgment.
  • A team player within a multidisciplinary group of people from diverse cultures.
  • Able to innovate, develop and manage new areas of programming and partnerships.
Additional Information:

This position requires frequent international travel.
As a result of this process, the Centre may establish a pool of pre-qualified candidates for future permanent and term opportunities.
Hybrid Mode: Have the flexibility to work in hybrid mode (3 days out of 10 in the office).

Salary Range (CA$) / Level

$94,980 – $117,580 / Level M (under review).
