Job Description

ROLE PURPOSE:

The project aims to create unique capacity development opportunities for local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and to respond and prevent sensitive child protection issues including abuse, neglect, and exploitation. The project is a humanitarian response for children affected by conflict or disaster on child protection service delivery including case management, awareness-raising on CP/CRC, and child-friendly activity (CFS) for promoting children’s psychosocial wellbeing.

The post holder will be under the direct supervision of the program manager and get a technical assistant from the MEAL coordinator to support the information management reporting to the PM. The role will focus on data entry, data processing, data validation, and developing data associated with program staff and information management of the effectiveness of child protection in the emergency projects implemented in Northern Shan in villages and IDP camps.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • To conduct data entry, data processing, data analysis for proper monitoring and analysis of project activity indicators and targets.
  • To conduct field independent monitoring visits and phone follow-up on the program activities including child protection work in the project area.
  • To report supervisor the findings of data analyzing and information
  • Ensure all necessary information is collected and properly recorded in the agreed system.
  • Compile the monthly reports and consolidate them into the system and produce overall combined reports on a monthly basis.
  • Perform data quality checks and data screening and undertake validation of the reports with source documents on a regular basis.
  • Ensure filing, documenting, and maintaining both soft and hard copies of all monitoring forms and data.
  • Assist PM in data verification processes to ensure data quality and produce monthly reports.
  • Support monitoring, evaluation, and impact assessment processes and support in the management of the beneficiary feedback mechanism.
  • Work with the program team to ensure information relating to Save the Children and our activities is shared widely within communities in which we are working and provide for their participation and feedback in line with relevant guidelines and frameworks.

Child Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all beneficiaries of your program are receiving ongoing, age-appropriate verbal or written information in relevant languages about Save the Children’s Child Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social / Development Sciences, Information Technology, or other related subjects.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Excellent personal organizational skills, including time management, and ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel and work in difficult environments according to travel requirements.
  • Significant people management skills/experience and proven ability to create an environment that encourages team-working and motivates a team across various geographical areas.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the organization developing effective working relationships to deliver outstanding results for children.
  • Willingness and capability to comply with all relevant Save the Children policies and procedures with respect to health and safety, security, equal opportunities, and other relevant policies, including the Child Safeguarding Policy.
  • Understanding of Local context and Local Language is appreciated.
  • Solid understanding and experience of working with Spread Sheets (MS-Excel) and relational databases (MS-Access).
  • Professional working experience with international organizations is preferable.
  • Proven team working ability.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Excellent Computer proficiency.
  • Ability to live and travel in remote locations, and ability to speak the local language.
  • Interest & willingness to learn from the community.
  • Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values, and principles.
  • At least 1-year of experience in a related field.
